OUR MISSION
Augusta Community Prayer Garden at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church

The construction of The Augusta Community Prayer Garden has been completed. A dedication will be held on May 15, 2022 after church services. If you have not had a chance to visit the garden, we welcome you to come at any time and enjoy some peace and solitude surrounded by God's beauty.
Help Us Serve Our Mission Partners
James, the brother of Jesus, wrote: “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions?... Faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless” (James 2:14,17; NLT). Serving others in love is the natural result of following Jesus Christ, and we invite you to explore ways to put your faith into action. Check out our serving opportunities below.
Master's Table Soup Kitchen
The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen serves a hot lunch to more than 325 hungry people every day, 365 days per year in downtown Augusta. Thanks to the kindness and support of the local community, they opened the doors to a brand new, 6,200 square foot facility in 2010, complete with prayer rooms, an organic community garden, and indoor seating for 152 guests.
Center for Care and Counseling
The staff of the Center for Care & Counseling is committed to being with you as you listen to all moments in your life. We will provide a safe place for you to tell the story of your individual or family concerns. With the use of skilled listening, a positive regard for you and yours, our clinical training and knowledge of our own humanity, we will collaborate with you to discover your meaning in your story.
GAP Ministries of Augusta
GAP Ministries was founded in 1979 as a mission outreach of local Presbyterian and Disciples of Christ churches. Over the years the ministries provided by GAP have evolved as the needs of the community have changed, and we have continued to find ways to "fill the gap" between needs and services. Our base of support has also broadened, so that now we have thirteen churches and organizations from several denominations providing funding and/or volunteers.
Pioneers
Pioneers mobilizes teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church-planting movements in partnership with local churches. For more than 35 years, Pioneers' passion has been to see God glorified among those who are physically and spiritually isolated from the gospel of Jesus Christ – from Muslim bedouins in the deserts of North Africa to secular humanists in Eastern Europe and middle-class Buddhist urbanites in the sprawling cities of East Asia.
Operation Christmas Child
Volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse through Operation Christmas Child directly connects you with God’s global purposes. By serving year-round, you further the proclamation of the Gospel in more than 150 countries around the world. Every gift-filled shoebox is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship – transforming the lives of children and their families through the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The Lydia Project
The Lydia Project provides free services to women anywhere facing any type of cancer. This support includes ongoing correspondence and encouragement every month for at least twelve months. Locally, Lydia grants funds for rent, utilities, medical supplies, and prescription assistance to women who are unable to afford these basic expenses while undergoing cancer treatment.
Columbia County Cares
Founded in 1997, Columbia County Cares, Inc. is a full service food pantry serving Columbia County. It is 100% volunteer operated and 100% donation supported. It is open 3 days a week and serves about 20 families a day. The food pantry is an independent partner agency of Golden Harvest Food Bank and Feeding America.
Santa Claus Express – Christmas in July
St. Andrew participates in the Santa Claus Express by donating toiletries and small gift items to the nursing care residents and other senior citizens of the Presbyterian Homes of Georgia. We collect these items in July ("Christmas in July") because of the many additional needs during the holiday season. To learn more about this mission, please click here to link to their website.
